這六張CD收錄了習俗上婚禮中各種場合會用到的相關音樂,一般在台灣婚禮只有在走紅毯的前後有特定的音樂,通常都是華格納的「新婚合唱曲」和孟德爾頌的「結婚進行曲」。不過在西方,尤其是美國,婚禮前等待賓客坐定,和婚禮後派對上演出的音樂,也有一套固定常用的樂曲。
婚禮中新娘進場時演奏的音樂,使用華格納歌劇羅恩格林中的「新婚合唱曲」,已經是百年以來的習俗。而近年來也開始流行起帕海貝爾的「卡農」。另外,隨著黛安娜王妃和查爾斯王子的婚禮在新娘走紅毯時使用了克拉克的「丹麥王子進行曲」後,這段音樂也常被使用。這段音樂一般常誤稱為是菩賽爾的「小號志願軍」。


婚禮進行過程中,一般在歐美會演奏讚美歌,到了婚禮最後,新郎新娘攜手走下紅毯,則習慣演奏較活潑的樂曲,這時就是演奏孟德爾頌仲夏夜之夢中的「結婚進行曲」的時候,有時也會有人播放魏道爾第五號管風琴交響曲中的「觸技曲」。婚禮後的宴客,通常會播放舞曲、有時會請流行樂團來演奏現場音樂,陪伴賓客宴席,製造氣氛。


這套專輯中,六張CD就是按照上述的功能,分別收錄了:新娘進場時的音樂、結婚儀式過程的音樂(聖樂篇和非聖樂篇)、結婚註冊簽名時的音樂(婚禮最後通常會有)、新郎新娘退場音樂、招待賓客時的音樂。無論是作為婚禮之配樂,或是作為新婚之贈品,這套產品都是最佳的選擇。
