保護證人組督察許瑋琛（黃宗澤飾）奉命保護受襲的名人喬江河（蔣志光飾），乃是「商場魔術手」喬江山（秦沛飾）的胞弟。江河得罪了一名瀋陽有勢力人士熊飛，招致殺身之禍。於是警方建議江河接受保護證人組的保護，因此，瑋琛認識了江河的姪女喬子琳（鍾嘉欣飾）。 子琳性格乖僻，對人冷漠，甚至有點不近人情。瑋琛和隊員與子琳接觸初期，都認為子琳是被寵壞的富家千金，對周遭的人和事都不聞不問。然而，瑋琛同時目睹子琳對著父親江山，有著可愛的另一面，不期然對子琳的性格產生問號。 熊飛特意來港和喬氏兄弟正式和解，可是席間生枝節，最終江河重傷，一名路過的退休大法官卻被流彈擊斃。此時正在回家的子琳目睹一切，向警方指證熊飛開槍殺人，成為兇案的唯一目擊證人，而警方為保子琳安全，再次派出保護證人組保護子琳。 在保護子琳的日子裡，瑋琛曾不顧危險，以身犯險救了子琳，連子琳視如命根的大提琴，瑋琛也不顧一切力保不失，令子琳對瑋琛留下特別的印象，開始留意瑋琛這位保護自己的人。
