吳彗星（尹泰英飾）從小歷經磨難，在遇到崔妍智（金玟廷飾）之後開始接觸棒球，並將棒球和妍智作為最終目標而奮鬥。長大後的吳彗星成為了獨具天賦的怪物投手，是韓國球速最快的保持者。然而在隱瞞肩傷勉強出賽之後，吳彗星的棒球生涯面臨終止的危機。為了幫助彗星，妍智找來了由五位各具天賦的棒球選手組成的”外人球團“支援彗星。堅信只要努力沒有什麼得不到的馬東卓（樸成民飾）憑藉自身不懈的努力成為韓國最強的打擊手，在跟彗星的比賽中，彗星犧牲了肩膀，而馬東卓卻失去了自尊心和14年的愛情。然而妍智卻只看到彗星的痛苦，沒有看到東卓所受的傷害，這讓東卓非常傷心。在彗星和東卓兩個優秀男人中徘徊的妍智因為感覺傷害到兩人而覺得不安，妍智的妹妹賢智（宋亞英飾）小學時候曾被彗星所救，從此之後賢智單戀上了像王子一樣的彗星。已經成為高中生的賢智仍然愛着彗星，不過彗星心中只有姐姐妍智，僅僅是把賢智當成可愛的妹妹。隨着彗星、妍智、東卓和賢智四人間複雜感情糾葛的浮現，一段發生在棒球場上的浪漫愛情故事由此展開
