蟄伏三年，周星馳再次推特別視覺效果的喜劇《長江7號》。故事講述一位以拾荒為生的父親鐵（周星馳飾）和兒子小狄（徐嬌飾）過著捉襟見肘的生活，小狄更經常被人欺負。某天，父親竟然拾得一隻外星生物！小狄把它命名為「長江7號」，並希望憑它的超能力擺平所有問題，在同學面前「吐氣揚眉」。可是，這外星人竟然另有主見，還製造了更多的麻煩…最後，兩父子明白到「家」的意義，以及錢並非萬能。
