改編自70年代傳奇少女樂隊The Runaways的成長故事。1975年，兩個搖滾少女 - Joan Jett(姬絲汀史超域飾)和Cherie Currie(狄高達芬寧飾)在的士高相識，在經理人Kim帶領和影响下，創立了史上第一隊女子搖滾樂隊The Runaways，迅速走紅，受歡迎程度猶如60年代當紅槳隊披頭四。打破男性主導的音樂市場。一個搖滾靈魂，一個性感小野貓，迷倒夢千少男少女。缺乏家庭溫暖的Joan和Cherie互相依賴，一同縱情聲色，但關係飄忽。她們是家人、是情人、是隊友，是毒伴……踏入花花世界，觀眾的歡呼聲更把她們送上雲霄，愈來愈多人認識。不過，多姿多采的大染缸卻讓她們對自己愈來愈陌生，更令隊友間產生猜疑和嫉妒，出道三年終告解散。她們的光芒雖然短暫，但傳奇的成就已成為日後女子樂隊的典範。
