根據奧浩哉狂銷全球的知名科幻漫畫作品《GANTZ 殺戮都市》改編而成，劇情描述主角玄野計（二宮和也 飾）某日在地鐵月台巧遇多年未見的小學好友加藤勝（松山研一 飾），在充滿正義感的加藤請求下，兩人冒險搭救一名摔落鐵軌的醉漢，卻不幸慘遭電車輾斃。但在死亡的瞬間，玄野和加藤被傳送到一處從未見過的公寓房間，重獲新生的兩人發現房間內全都是臨死再生的人們，而這群人隨即被一顆名為「GANTZ」的神秘大黑球賦予獵殺「星人」的任務。為了回歸正常生活，兩人因而被迫加入一連串與外星人戰鬥的殺戮戰場及殘酷人性的血腥輪迴之中…。
