Tim在律師世家長大， 父親當年是城中富豪的御用律師。在他十四歲那一年， 他目睹自己敬仰的父親為了勝出官司而令他人含冤。從那時起Tim對於父親，由失望逐漸變成恨及藐視，父子關係缺裂。
長大後，Tim立志要成為一個有良心的律師。儘管懷崇高大志，並不代表能在複雜的世俗生存，但他仍深信自己可以做得到。在孤獨的正義路上作戰，他慶幸有未婚妻Magan及好友Calvin的支持。
加入律政署後，Tim遇上行動不便的鋼琴教師李靜。在他的鼓勵下，李靜決定勇敢地指控曾非禮她的醫生周文瑄。周文瑄的代表律師，是與Tim一樣有不敗官司，漂亮成績的Freddy。但Freddy的性格與Tim剛好相反，上司稱頌為識事務者，並深得律師行及客戶器重。
