高科技研究中心出產了第一代人工智慧的機械人--- K-1。林局長認為要確保K-1投入社會後的安全性，決定秘密把K-1送到一個小城中試用，公安隊長徐大春被選中做監管K-1的人，而他只能是小城中唯一知情的人。K1在小鎮充分發揮機械人的長處：高效、實用、耐勞，搞得小鎮熱熱鬧鬧的。大春暗戀同事素梅，但神女無心，反被「全能」的K1吸引，大春在旁乾著急，但又苦於不能揭露K1的身份，只能「拆散鴛鴦」而被素梅誤解。素梅的妹妹素清暗戀電腦老師小江，但小江卻喜歡素梅，四人感情追逐，笑話百出。事實是，K1程式的設計是不能與人類談戀愛的 --- 儘管K1竟在自我學習程式中發展了對素梅有愛情的感覺！
