杜琪峰監製，高徒羅永昌(《每當變幻時》)接捧執導，延續冷峻敘事和拍攝風格，打造2010年銀河映像作品《報應》。揉合了綁架、家庭和復仇等元素，片中杜Sir的御用愛將黃秋生和任賢齊再次上陣，與文詠珊(Janice Man)、張可頤、恭碩良、林利、盧巧音和首次銀幕演出的 黃秋生兒子一一為救贖和殺戮跌入了萬劫不復的境地，以復仇來懲罰罪人，恩怨相報，到頭來受報應卻是自己。
《報應》以「冤冤相報何時了」的宿命論為定題，自大的富商王潮生(黃秋生飾)與妻子(張可頤飾)育有一子一女(文詠珊、黃一一飾)，一天潮生收到反叛女兒被綁架的勒索電話，誤以為是她自導自演的把戲而不理會，最終綁匪在一怒之下撕票。有恩於潮生的保鑣姚啟初(任賢齊飾)，見老闆痛失愛女，於是重出江湖，追查綁匪的下落和逐一解決他們……
