婚姻失敗的律師朱玉剛 (黃百鳴飾)，也是個不稱職的父親，與女兒關係極差，卻偏被派往幫助喪父的富家女陳思思 (楊冪飾) ，偽裝成她父親，替她在一個月內甄選最合適的男人結婚。當別人的假爸爸，反讓朱有了反省，也有了修補與女兒關係的勇氣。
從未紅過的失意流行歌手譚冠榮 (甄子丹飾)，原來只是派去假扮過氣女子組合成員宋秋波 (吳君如飾)的男朋友，和她出席恩師飯局，充撐場面。怎知飯局後，被男友趕走，無家可歸的宋卻登堂入室，在譚家賴著不走。兩個天涯淪落人，互相鼓勵，重新振作找回音樂理想，也找到了新的感情...
